Art with a   purpose

Who am I?

I have been a working artist pretty much my whole life. I graduated from Syracuse University, and I have lived and worked in NYC and LA.  In addition to that I studied art at Chelsea School Of Art in London.

When I graduated from college, my goal was to be a fashion illustrator. After a jab at the freelance lifestyle, I got into the world of retail. I was the manager and assistant buyer at an upscale shoe store. This is where Function Art was born.  I started painting shoes-and selling them. What is more functional than shoes?

My style of painting comes from various ethnic influences, as well as patterns and colors found in clothing from my fashion illustration days. Now I paint on glass, metal, wood and ceramic surfaces, and I love what I do!

I grew up in the Finger Lakes on Owasco Lake. I now reside in Groton, NY, a picturesque "small town USA".  A great place to live, and where my
husband Donald and I raise our son Wilson.

You can meet me at the Ithaca Farmers' Market ,Sundays, May through October,  where I have been a member selling my wares since 2004.

I am also an avid collector, and dealer in funky, affordable vintage goods. You can visit my space at FOUND in Ithaca.
